Opening hours on official
holidays: On Christmas Day, Easter, Ascension Day, Pentecost and
German Unification Day, the museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm. The museum
will be closed on: December 24th (Christmas Eve) December 31st (New Year’s
Eve) January 1 (New Year’s Day) May 1st (May Day)

The museum is designed for
barrier-free accessibility. Elevators provide access to most exhibition
rooms for visitors in wheelchairs. Please speak with one of our staff
members for assistance.

A visit to the model railway and the special
exhibitions are included in the entrance prices.

The “combi-ticket” is a two-day ticket for visitors who
want to experience the history of the city of Hamburg on two days and acquaint
themselves with the wide range of offers from the institutions of the Museum
Foundation. It entitles the holder to visit all special and permanent
exhibitions of the Hamburg Historical Museum Foundation (SHMH), costs 12 € and
is valid on two consecutive days. The combi-ticket is available for purchase at
the museum ticket counters of the participating institutions or from the
Museumsdienst Hamburg museum service.

the Hamburg Historical Museum Foundation (SHMH) for only 30.00 € for one
whole year.
The history of the city from the Stone Age to HafenCity
will be recounted and conveyed in the museums. Whether farm house,
warehouse, country manor or castle – whether special exhibition in
Barmbek, reopening in Harburg, children’s program in Altona or a visit to
the hamburgmuseum; the combi-ticket includes all museums of the Foundation
at no extra charge. The combi-ticket costs 30.00 € (students pay only 20.00
€), is valid for one year from the date of purchase and available at our
museum ticket counter. (The ticket may not be used for special events. The
ticket is only valid together with an ID card and is not transferrable.) If you prefer to order your ticket, please contact us.
